About the Friday hikes:
- All hikes are open to the public.
- Bring plenty of water, a snack or lunch on the longer hikes.
- Wear hiking boots or comfortable footwear.
- No pets. No smoking.
- Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
- Cell phones are for emergencies only.
- Bad weather may change or cancel hike.
- We try to accommodate all levels of hikers.
- Higher elevation demands good physical condition!

|Feb 2||PhoneLine to Historic Trail to Sabino Creek.||Sabino Canyon Visitor Center at 8:30 am||Take the road back to Bluff trail leading through riparian area back to Bear 29 and to the visitor center. Return route may be adjusted. This is approx. 7.0 miles but mileage may vary depending on route back to visitor center. Allow at least 4 hrs. Please call Ann 429-4492 with questions.|
|Feb 9||Hutches Pool||This hike will leave on the 9 am tram from the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center.||Will require purchasing a $10.00 tram ticket unless you want to walk the 7.4 miles on the Tram road in addition to the 8.2 miles from stop 9. We will hike from the end of the tram road to Hutch’s Pool and return and ride the tram back to the visitor’s center. This medium difficulty hike has an elevation gain of 800 ft. |Feb 23||Wasson Peak - King Canyon Trail||Carpool or meet at trailhead at 8:30 am||3.5 miles, one way. This is a popular trail for wildflower viewing. The trailhead and parking area for this hike are directly across from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum on Kinney Road. The final destination will be the top of Wasson Peak, elevation 4,687 feet), For those of you wishing to carpool from the East Side meet at the intersection of Sunrise and Swan, NE side in front of Ace Hardware by 7:30. If you wish to carpool from the North West area meet at the Basha’s at Cortaro Farms Rd and Thornydale SE corner by 7:45. If you would rather go to the trailhead on your own, that’s fine. |Mar 2||Sutherland Trail in Catalina State Park||Meet at 8 am at the east side of the Home Depot Parking Lot, 10855 N North Oracle to carpool into the Park. Or meet at the trailhead at the east end of the main paved road into the park. Entrance Fee $7.00 for 1 to 4 people per car required.||Moderate hike approx. 5 miles round trip to Waterfall. |Mar 23||Douglas Spring trail to Bridal Wreath Falls||Meet at Douglas Springs trailhead at the East end of Speedway at 8 am.||A 6 mile hike with an elevation gain of about 1000 ft. Medium difficulty. |Mar 30||Milagrosa Loop||Meet at Macdonalds at Catalina Hyw. and Tanque Verde at 8 am to caravan to the trailhead. A short drive.||This is a loop, 6.6 mile hike with an elevation gain of 1000 Ft. Allow 4 to 5 hrs. Call Ann 429-4492 for more info.|
|Apr 6||Bug Springs||Meet at MacDonalds at Tanque Verde & Catalina Hwy at 8 am and caravan to the trail head. Hike will start no later than 8:45 am.||4.5 mile hike. 600’ elevation gain. This is a two car shuttle beginning at General Hichcock, mp 12 Mt Lemmon Hwy ending at the lower trail head near Prison Camp. We will organize car shuttle before we head up the mountain. Extreme ½ mile uphill climb in the beginning then trail levels out into a down hill back to the lower trailhead where we will shuttle back to upper trailhead. Call Ann 429-4492 for more info.|
|Apr 13||Guthrie Peak from General Hitchcock trailhead||Meet at MacDonalds at Tanque Verde & Catalina Hwy. at 8 am and caravan to the trail head. Hike will start no later than 8:45 am.||5.6 mile hike starts at 6000’ elevation and has an overall gain of 1300’. Trail is moderately difficult with a good climb 20 minutes into it and a rock face scramble 10 minutes before reaching the peak. Good physical condition required. Call Ann 429-4492 for more info.|
|Apr 20||Sycamore Reservoir||Meet at MacDonalds at Tanque Verde & Catalina Hwy. at 8 am and caravan to the trail head. Hike will start no later than 8:45 am.||The trail starts at the abandoned Federal Prison Camp site 7.2 miles up the Mt Lemmon Hwy. Parking is to the left and right just inside the entrance. This hike will head toward Sycamore Reservoir. Length will be at the discretion of the Leader.|
