Summer is for the birds!
Many birds visit Sabino Canyon only in the summer.
Join Sabino Canyon Volunteer Naturalists for an easy 2-1/2 hour walk on dirt paths and asphalt roads. Learn the sights and sounds of the birds of the Canyon and lots of fun facts about the birds that live here.
This is a beginner friendly walk — we even have binoculars you can borrow. Experienced birders looking to add some desert birds to their life list will also enjoy our walk.
What bird is making that sound? Which bird made that nest? Join us and find out!
We are meeting early to avoid the heat and to be in the Canyon at the birdiest time of day. The walks are free, and no registration is needed. We will start at the plaza in front of the Visitor Center at 6:30am on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, starting on April 19 and continuing through September.
Please bring plenty of water and wear a hat and sun protection. Open-toed shoes or sandals are not recommended.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
