Learn about the wildlife of Sabino Canyon!
Join Sabino Canyon Volunteer Naturalists for an easy 2 1/2 hour walk on both dirt paths and asphalt roads. On this beginner friendly walk, you’ll hear some fun facts as we learn to identify the sights and sounds of the birds of Sabino Canyon. We will have binoculars you can borrow.
Though our focus will be on birds, we might also see coatis, hares and rabbits, deer, three different kinds of squirrels, and — if it’s warm enough — some of the dozen species of lizards in this section of the canyon.
Experienced birders are very welcome, but may enjoy the Tuesday bird walks more (check the calendar).
What bird is making that sound? Which bird made that nest? Join us and find out!
Join us on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Meet in the plaza in front of the Visitor Center.
Please bring plenty of water and wear a hat and sun protection. Open-toed shoes or sandals are not recommended. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
