Are you curious about water in the desert? Come on the Hydrogeological Hike to learn about the groundwater, rocks, springs, and wells of the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area, along with the history of the Sabino Creek dam.
Expect this hike to be 2 miles and take about 3 hours. Terrain will vary from paved roads to rocky trails. Expect minimal elevation change. Please wear appropriate footwear, bring water and possibly a snack. Hiking poles may be useful for part of the walk.
This walk is free and open to the public. No reservations required.
Meet at the flagpole at the front of the Visitor Center Plaza at 9:00 am on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, starting October 4, with the last one on April 18.
