Satisfy your long-held desire to become a prospector! You’ll also learn
some of the geology of Sabino Canyon and the Santa Catalina
Mountains. Panning is fun for both kids and adults!
Depending on water conditions, we’ll meet at the bridge just above
shuttle stop 3 on the main canyon road or near Rattlesnake trailhead on
the main road. To pan at the stream near shuttle stop 3, we need
“Goldilocks conditions” — in other words, not too high and not too low.
Check the online listing at sabinonaturalists.org on Thursday morning to
know where we’ll be.
Also, on very chilly mornings, we may delay the start time, and if it’s very
warm, we may move it up. Again, to make sure where this activity is being
held — and at what time and where — please check the online listing
Thursday morning.
