SCVN COVID-RELATED VACCINATION & MASK REQUIREMENTS
On Monday, August 29th, your SCVN Board of Directors met in an executive session (board members only) to determine how we will safely move forward as an organization in this Covid environment while interacting with the public. All 10 board members were in attendance and each contributed significantly to the 2.5 hour discussion. Our goal was to set up safe, straightforward, uncomplicated, guidelines even as we are challenged by multiple guidelines from multiple sources. The CDC, the state/local governments, the school districts right down to the US Forest Service all can have overlapping procedures that can be more restrictive than the others but not less. Depending on Covid conditions, our guidelines may change. So with that in mind, here is what your SCVN Board has decided.
VACCINATIONS: All SCVN volunteers who will interact with the public through one of our three programs – Kinder, Elementary or Public Interpretation – must attest they are “fully vaccinated” as defined by one of the three available vaccination protocols. This will be done on line through the “Survey Monkey” or Google platforms and accomplished in October before our programs begin. The SCVN Trainees would also need to attest as to their vaccination status before working with the public.
MASKS: Masks will be required for all kinder and elementary field trips. This applies to volunteers and all attendees during the table activities and also on nature walks when social distancing cannot be maintained. For PI activities, always have masks available.
SCVN will have a supply of masks available in the office and with each of our kits.
START DATES (subject to change based on circumstances)
Elementary: Last Tuesday in October
Kinder: First week in November
PI: October 22 for the Friday hikes. Mid Sept/early October for other activities.
Social Activities: Fall potluck is scheduled for Sunday, October 3 BUT will be reevaluated as we get closer to that dat
